Packing

I think my hard work and organisation is paying off... although I may end up being wrong about that…

All the laundry is done, and more importantly dry. The various bits of paperwork are all sorted and / or printed and now in my briefcase. The little jobs (camera charged, sat nav charged, relevant maps fished out from the map drawer [yes we have a map drawer], instructions for chickens written, shoes polished, travel bottles labelled etc., etc.) are finished. And now I just need to put my tops – already folded – into my suitcase and effectively I’m done. But obviously this isn’t just a holiday, it’s our wedding and so I’m sat here, one eye on the Olympics, one eye on my to-do list, quietly fretting.

For several weeks now I’ve been concentrating on the paperwork. For example, I’ve booked helicopter flights to the Scilly Isles and I’ve checked I’ve got the tickets maybe half a dozen times now; passports and birth certificates – check, accommodation details – check, doggy vaccination cards – check, readings – check and so on and so forth…

Based on my organisational abilities just these last two weeks I could very possibly run the country with a high degree of success…

Our Hawaiian shirts haven’t arrived yet – yikes! But to be honest, if that’s the only fly in the ointment I can't really complain.

Right more coffee and then maybe one more check… you can’t be too careful leading up to one of the most important days of your life!

Have you missed me?! I haven't posted since Dec 31st but I'm sure you've coped in my absence ;0)

Cornwall was, well, amazing. I wish we were still there. I might do a more in depth holiday dispatch later, but highlights include buying our wedding rings from an independant Cornish jeweller, spending time with friends, driving heavy horses, finding the league of gay gentlemen in Launceston, lots of lie-ins, the best fish and chips, visiting our wedding hotel again (and ordering the food and wine!) and finding a pub where we can all meet on the Friday before the wedding (right on the harbour in St Ives)...

For now though, I have to do some work, get through the laundry and do a tidy up. We unloaded the car last night and dumped everything in the front room!

Is it tomorrow yet?!

Lot’s of last minute things to do… Mr. Pluto had a vet’s appointment for his annual MOT and booster vaccinations this morning, I needed to draw out my holiday money, I definitely needed to buy a jam doughnut from Gregg’s the bakers, the car needed to be washed and some last minute laundry needed well, laundering. I am happy to say they’ve all been done. I’ve also managed to buy myself a fabulous new bag for work from Storm. (What can I say, I multi task.)

In between all this I’ve been working (yes, really) and have achieved quite a lot. Not as much as if I didn’t have all the distractions previously listed but enough. I also worked really hard yesterday to sort everything out.

I won’t be able to blog much when I’m away – if at all, so bear with me. I’ll try and do a couple of lines in Glasgow and Edinburgh (toward the end of the trip) but I doubt there will be much in between!
